As you can see from the comparison, we got a face resulting from our
Extrude Region going inward and keeping both sides. That will require
the artist additional work to "fix" the geometry.
On the other hand, we have the Extrude Manifold managing to push the
face inward and editing both sides simultaneously. That is a huge
timesaver for 3D modeling.
3.4 Creating new edges and faces from
vertices
There are some cases in 3D modeling where you might have two
separate structures that you wish to connect. In Blender, we can connect
objects using the F key when having two vertices or edges selected. The
process is simple and only requires you to have at least two elements
selected.
In Edit Mode, select two vertices in a model and press the F key to
connect them with an edge (Figure 3.15).
